Programs

Twelve programs. One goal: a living at home.

Every program is built with a government or industry partner, and measured by one thing — whether people can earn a dignified living without leaving their village.

Farming & Environment

Lower costs, healthier soil and crops that reach the market — for small, marginal and tribal farmers.

Organic Farming & Biochar

Tribal farmers were losing money every season to chemical inputs. We trained 500 women farmers to make their own organic fertiliser — and to turn cotton stalks into biochar instead of burning them.

  • Village awareness meetings on organic cotton, followed by hands-on training from experienced agricultural experts.
  • Equipment for making organic fertiliser given free of cost, plus quality cotton seed.
  • Organic certification through a third party, and marketing support for the crop.
  • Cotton stalks that used to be burnt after harvest are now converted into biochar that feeds the soil.

  • Solar fencing equipment provided to farmers struggling with crop losses.
  • Guidance on other options: biological fencing, changes in cropping pattern, and government crop-loss compensation and insurance.
